These microcomputers make it far easier for you to make sure that your hearing aids are set at the ideal amplification levels to help you hear comfortably and as well as possible. Additionally, this digital technology and microcomputer helps your hearing aids to filter out unwanted background and ambient noise, helping to better clarify your hearing.
Smart Phone Compatibility
Hearing aid manufacturers and developers are taking hearing aids to the next level by working in conjunction with smart phone companies to ease operation and increase convenience even further. Now, hearing aids can actually be linked to your smart phone much like a Bluetooth device to directly transmit audio from your phone to your earpiece.
This means when you are talking on your phone, watching videos, or listening to music that the sound will be digitally transmitted directly into your ears, increasing clarity and sound quality. You can customize settings for your hearing aids through your phone as well. If you prefer a higher volume level at work, but lower in the movie theater, you can program these settings using your phone. As long as you carry your phone with you and have location services enabled, your settings will be automatically in place every time you enter those locations.
If you do not have your smart phone device with you, your hearing aids will still operate normally though not with your customized settings. However, as technologies advance, this may change as well allowing hearing aids to have stored, internal memory that can operate independently from your smart phone.
